What to do???

So I haven't posted in a loooooooonnggg while....

The racing has pretty much turned to crap. I ran a 3:48 at conference and had a great DNF at regionals. The reason is simple enough, the allergy/asthma combo has been kicking my ass. The last 300m of conference was hell trying to run while breathing through a straw and regionals was worse, getting carted off the track was loads of fun...

If only the solution was easy. I've been trying a different combo of medicines and some work better than others but none have really worked all that well yet. I think at this point though, my lungs or whatever are so dang agitated that it's getting easier to trigger the asthma or something. Because at first it only happened during races when I was going to the well, but now it's started to creap into hard workouts, although not as bad because I can control the conditions, rest, etc. better in practice.

Anyways, it's really frustrating because I KNOW I am in very good shape, but I've got nothing to show for it because of the asthma crap. As I said earlier, workouts have been great and everything points towards fast race times.

At this point, I really have no idea what I'm going to do. I don't know if I want to continue racing this season or not. I mean it feels like I'm so damn close to popping off a big one that I'd hate to waste all the work I've put in. On the other hand, it's no fun going into the race without knowing if you are going to feel like your suffocating or not. No matter how mentally tough I am, there comes a point where trying to keep pushing that level becomes dangerous I think. On the other hand, the only way to tell if a medicine works is to test in a race. So I'm in a cunundrum here. Plus I have no idea where I'd race.
