Stress Fractures in Runners: Risk Factors and Prevention
I thought I’d pass along a journal article I wrote back in grad school that just got published in the July issue of the International Journal of Athletic Therapy and Training.
It’s a quick practical article looking at tibial stress fractures and runners. In particular, what the possible causes may be and some potential things to address these problems and prevent the development of stress fractures.
Enjoy!

Good article. I'm not going to lie, some of it was over my head, but it was very important to me. My first year as a head coach of CC, two of my girls ended up with stress fractures. If I can work on shortening stride length and improving their foot strike, perhaps I can reduce this type of injury. In my defense, they were both playing soccer too on the weekends, but I'm sure I could have helped with some prevention on my end.
Great
