Do the fastest athletes always win? The ones who come in with the best seed time. The athlete who threw down that fast mile at Mt. Sac or a blazing 5k at Stanford? If not, how come?

In episode 114, we explore the world of racing. What does it mean to be competitive and can we train racing as a skill? The track world is two different sports rolled into one. The first, a time trial type sport, where we try to set ourselves up to run as fast as possible. Then, once the championship season starts, it’s as if we’ve ditched the old rules and implemented new ones. Now, it’s all about racing.

Are you coaching competitiveness or compliance?
